Spanish
Town Citizens Against Gun Violence was convened by Rosemarie
Greene who had just returned to Jamaica on vacation. Her
brother was murdered on his farm in Spanish Town. It was at
this point that she decided to stay and help fight gun
violence. She has created a social agency, which she hopes
will fill the void of the sociological deficit which she has
found in Spanish Town. The mission of organization is to
bring Peace and Empowerment to the community and restore
order and end gun violence.
Who are
we?
A group of
organized citizens who recognize the lethal effects of Gun
Violence in our society and in Spanish Town. Spearheaded by
Rosemarie Greene, citizens gathered and came together and
speak as one voice to end gun violence.
What we
do?
We are
dedicated to conducting a number of exercises to create
paradigm shifts in the community, gradually changing the way
people interact and how the community, taking one person at
a time, one family at a time, one home at a time. This then
translates into one community at a time.
